Hindu Mandir

A monument upon the sand, the BAPS Hindu Mandir is the first official temple complex built in the entire Middle East. The complex radiates a sublime and transient aura across the golden desert horizon creating a one-of-a-kind spiritual experience for the Hindu community and the public. Its design consists of a variety of communal spaces, tranquil courtyards, magnificent exhibition halls, on site living for the sadhu’s, and a unique amphitheatre.

The complex’s architectural design showcases an innovative approach in fusing the temple complex with the concept of an oasis, uniting its language with the surrounding desert environment. Reflecting important and powerful elements in Hinduism, the project emulates the essence of the Ghats and holy rivers in India within its design, creating a spiritual connection to the roots of the Hindu Religion.
