Funan’s vision for retail reimagined is woven into its architecture. A new paradigm for live, work and play in Singapore’s city centre, Funan offers a synergistic combination of retail, office and serviced residence components that is designed to appeal to savvy consumers pursuing quality of life in a socially-conscious and creative environment.
Visitors are greeted by a majestic 25-metre Tree of Life when they first enter the mall. In addition to being a symbol of live to liven Funan through creativity and curiosity, it also houses 20 retail pods, redefining the designs of shopping mall and shoppers’ experience. This is further complemented by an array of creative retail format and experience not found in typical malls.
To deliver this new icon for the retail scene was a challenging task. The Tree of Life required 250 tonnes of composite steel as well as long cantilevers to create a sense of spaciousness. As the floor plan differs at every level, the structure had to be adjusted and catered to connect with every floor.
