The strategic and systematic detailed plan and urban design of Doumen New Town and regional centre of Central Zhuhai capitalise on the scenic character of the site which has expansive water bodies. Liveability and sustainability of the new town is enhanced with abundant facilities and effective storm water management.

To bind the urban districts across the three large rivers, public spaces were integrated through thoughtful planning of the road and rail system. The integration brought about enhanced connectivity between the urban centres and appreciated land values, especially along the water bodies.
