Changi Airport Terminal 2

A tropical metropolis

The Project

A winning entry from an international competition, the terminal’s facelift has made it greener, brighter and bigger. Centred on a tropical theme, the design embraces daylight, lush landscaping and transparency. The entrance is uplifted with a leaf-shaped canopy, shielding travellers from the elements.

The Challenge

A major challenge was to carry out construction without interrupting the airport's 24-hour operations. Construction was planned and executed effectively in 160 phases.

Keeping to the modern image of Changi Airport, great attention to detail was paid to the interior design through high quality finishes and a rich palette of soft materials.
