Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay

Bold design, intimate courtyards

The Project

The hotel stands out for its distinctive geometric façade, inviting guests into its lofty, transparent ground floor with garden vistas. Intimate courtyards interconnect views across rooms and corridors at different floors, while the rooftop glows with an elevated transparent pool and a view of the city skyline.

The Challenge

The challenge of mitigating the harsh western sun on the hotel’s exterior was overcome with the use of angled windows. Rigorous sunshade studies and detailed models helped to determine this intricate geometry. A subtle incline of the window glazing and layout of the rooms also created a spacious feel.
