RSP Director of Planning, Chen Hong was invited to speak at two talks in China on Singapore Urban Planning Concepts and RSP’s Practices in China. The talks aim to highlight the value of Singapore’s master planning experience to the China market and promote RSP’s master plan capabilities.

The first talk on 3 Nov is organised by the Germany-China Architect Association in Shanghai for a group of over 30 planners, architects, developers and city development related professionals from Shanghai, Hangzhou, Dalian and Germany. With Chen Hong’s seven years of experience in the critical planning and development stage of the Hangzhou CBD, she offered valuable insights on the challenges and innovative efforts of urban planning, design and development of Hangzhou CBD, the value of Singapore’s urban planning experience, as well as RSP’s comprehensive planning methodology and impactful practices in China.

Chen Hong also spoke at a training lecture in Hangzhou for Hangzhou CBD Investment Group, a government owned company with 1,200 staff focusing on city development in and around Hangzhou CBD and the region across Qiangtang River. Hangzhou CBD Investment Group is RSP’s client and RSP has been involved in competition projects organised by them. The training session on 5 Nov attracted around 150 attendees from the planning, architectural and development related sections of the group.

Chen Hong shared, “The talks were good opportunities for us to showcase how RSP’s master planning and urban design capabilities are relevant to the needs of the market, and to widen our networks in China. We are encouraged with the active responses for both talks, and are hopeful that they will bear fruit in the future.”
